WHOIS Lookup

Enter a domain and see what the registry knows about it: registrar, nameservers, registration and expiration dates, and the registry's own status flags — from RDAP, falling back to classic WHOIS for zones that don't publish it.

What this checks

The lookup first asks the RDAP directory (rdap.org); if a zone doesn't publish RDAP — most country-code zones like .ru, .рф or .de — it queries the registry's classic WHOIS service instead. It reports the registrar of record, the delegated nameservers, the key dates and the registry status flags. The domain itself is never visited or contacted; the question goes to the registries, not to the domain.

Why it matters

  • The registrar of record tells you who controls the domain and who to talk to about transfers, abuse or renewals.
  • Nameservers show where a domain's DNS actually lives — often the first thing to check when a site misbehaves.
  • Registry status flags reveal holds, redemption periods and pending deletions long before the domain stops resolving.
  • Registration and expiration dates expose dropped-and-re-registered domains and help before you buy a name.

How to use

Type any domain (or paste a URL — the host is extracted) and press Check. The badge shows which source answered — RDAP or classic WHOIS. Instant, no account, nothing stored.
