Domain Registrar Checker

Enter a domain and see which registrar it is registered with. Registrars appear under many spellings, so known ones are normalized to a canonical name; unknown names are shown exactly as the registry published them.

What this checks

The tool reads the registrar field from the domain’s registration record — via RDAP where the zone publishes it, classic WHOIS where it does not — and the registry organization from the embedded TLD snapshot. The domain itself is never contacted.

Reading the result

  • A canonical badge appears only when the name matches the curated alias table — no fuzzy guessing.
  • Privacy-proxied or redacted registrations show “not published” — an honest answer instead of an empty shell.
  • The IANA ID row is a placeholder in this version: the registry data does not carry it yet, so it shows “—”.
  • The provenance caption names the leg that answered (RDAP or WHOIS) so you know how fresh and how complete the answer is.

Privacy and limits

No account needed; anonymous lookups are not stored. Registration facts are cached for 6 hours (fail-open), shared with the availability and age tools. The UI never hangs: one overall time budget per lookup.
