Domain Age Checker

Enter a domain and see how old it is: the exact creation date from the registry and the age in years, months and days. Domain age is context — for trust checks, due diligence and spotting recently dropped names.

What this checks

The tool reads the domain’s creation date from the registry — via RDAP where the zone publishes it, classic WHOIS where it does not — and computes the age deterministically: UTC calendar dates, full years and months, total days. The domain itself is never contacted.

What it can and cannot know

  • Some registries publish no creation date at all; those domains get an honest “unknown” with the reason, never a guess.
  • A WHOIS fallback answer (“likely”) is labeled with its source so you know how the date was obtained.
  • A future-dated creation record is registry data corruption — we show “unknown” instead of a negative age.
  • Domain age says nothing about safety: a young domain is not dangerous and an old one is not trustworthy by itself.

Privacy and limits

No account needed; anonymous lookups are not stored. Registration facts are cached for 6 hours (fail-open), so repeated checks are fast and gentle on the registries. The UI never hangs: one overall time budget per lookup.
